Boost Your Energy During Lockdown.

How To Boost Your Energy During Lockdown.

Boost your energy at home is a great way to maintain positivity and a healthy diet during any lockdown or stay-at-home restrictions.
Our lives have changed so much in such a short space of time. We've experienced more pressure on our mental this year. And pair this with increased sedentary days, it's not surprising that many of us are really feeling the lack of 'get up and go' energy we once had.

If you’re finding yourself yawning at your laptop before 11am and struggling to get through your afternoon meetings, here are some super simple ways you can give yourself a little energy boost whilst we all ride this corona-coaster.

1. Factor in Some Movement.

One of the many amazing benefits of exercise is the impact it has on our energy levels and mood. Once those endorphins hit, the positive energy will start flowing through your body and your mind will feel totally revitalised!

If you're functioning at a slower pace, go easy on yourself. Why not opt for a light jog, a walk or an online yoga class.

2. Up Your Nutrient Intake.

When our energy levels are low, our bodies often respond to sweet treats. Before we continue, this is not us saying you should avoid all sweet treats (we would NEVER say that). Instead, think about smart snacking.

For a sweet pick me up, perhaps try making some energy balls, homemade healthy cakes or a coffee based shake!
(Cough *Lean Green Blend* Cough).

This gives you a hit of nutrients to keep your body and brain fuelled.

3. Think About Your Sleep Habits.

If you’re tossing and turning all night, it might be time to re-think your sleep habits.

Think about setting regular wake-up times. This will train your body into getting tired at the same time most days. Avoid working from your bedroom. It may be tempting to roll over and grab your laptop but studies show that working from your bed really impacts your ability to switch off.

If you’ve been feeling a little flat, give the tips above a try and see what works for you.

It is so important to tune in and listen to your body. If you really listen in, you’ll know what it needs.

Most importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Please.

If you need a little extra down-time, do it without guilt.
